Translation

Translation creates a second version of a transcript in the language you pick. The original stays unchanged, and you can switch between the two at any time.

  • Free plan: Not included
  • Unlimited plan: 50 per day

See Plans and billing for the full comparison.

  1. Open a finished transcript and choose Translate in the toolbar.

  2. In the Translate transcript dialog, type in Search languages to narrow the list. If nothing matches, the dialog reads No languages match. The language of the transcript itself is not listed.

  3. Select the language you want, then choose Translate. Choose Cancel to close the dialog without starting anything.

  4. Reopen the dialog to check on it. The row for that language reads Queued, then Translating with a percentage. You can close the dialog and keep working.

  5. When the row reads Done · Open, choose it to open the translation.

If a row reads Failed · Try again, select it and choose Translate again. If the dialog cannot load the list, it says We couldn’t load the languages. Close and try again.

On the Free plan the dialog shows Translation is included in Unlimited. and choosing Translate takes you to the upgrade dialog.

The version switcher in the toolbar changes between the original and each finished translation. A translated version is read-only, and a notice at the top says so. To fix wording, edit the original and translate it again.

If you edit the original after translating, the version switcher marks the translation as out of date. Choose Out of date — Re-translate in the notice to refresh it.

In the Export transcript dialog, pick the translation under Version. See Export and copy.
